Cinnamon (or Red Hot) Popsicles, back in late Fifties/early Sixties. Very dark red in color (much more so than cherry) and *very* hot, just like the candy. Sometimes wonder if I dreamed the whole thing; no one else seems remembers them but they sure were great.

Hey there So---------for those bannana popsickles-----make some simple syrup----equall amounts water and sugar in a pan heat until it is WELL dissolved---use this to make the popsicles-it blends better then just sugar---then mix water--simple syrup and bannana flavoring to taste and freeze---easy as pie---hmm actually easier then pie!

Hood in New England produces a variety pack with Orange, Root Beer, Banana, Grape, Blue Raspberry & Cherry.

Root beer & Banana definitely my favorites.  I don't understand the toxic waste dump raspberry, but I keep buying the pack for the others.

I liked banana. Dream (or Cream)sicles came also, I believe, in strawberry. And didn't someone make a similar treat that had some kind of crunchies in the outer coat?

The Strawberry Crunch Bar .. they make a few different kinds .. the best one had more golden crunchies on the outside with strawberry surrounded by ice cream on the inside .. the cheaper kind was overly pink crunchies and too much pink inside very little ice cream .. pictures of both on yahoo doing "stawberry crunch bar" image search

Fun subject. I was at my local food market today, and bought some blue rasperry popsicles. They also had banana. In talking with one of the workers at the check-out, I asked her what flavors she remembered.( I am 50, she is probably 60) She distinctly remembers pineapple flavored( I do too-loved them) and she said when she was young, there was a 7 UP flavor....

Well, since we seem to be talking generically, and not about the trademarked brand, I will give my memory from the mid-60's: Good Humor Tiger Stripes. For years, I thought it was a rootbeer ice pop, but root beer ices I have had are not quite the same. Then, a few years back, I found what was missing: it was not just a root beer ice pop; the stripes of brown and orange were root beer and orange ices. Still never tasted anything like it (although A&W serves a drink with those flavors, and you can always add some orange juice to root beer).

Yes.   Red cherry Orange orange Green lime Brown root beer and Purple grape.   I did not care for the banana seemed artificial, even if I didn't know the word.  Cost a nickel, and I had to share half with by brother, which is hard to split the sticks sometimes with small fingers.  When it broke top and bottom, I gave him the short half or no sticks usually.   But we always did every other time who chooses the flavor.  Root beer was my personal fave, followed by any color that made your tongue or your bare belly turn color.   Then we would rinse our sticky fingers in the wading pool in the back yard or run under a hose.   The corner store was only a block and half away and sometimes a round trip could take an hour.  My mom wasn't concerned in the least how long we were gone, probably glad to get rid of us actually.  Now, I wouldn't let my kids out the back yard alone.

Wow...I thought I was the only person to remember vanilla popsicles. Yes, they had those and the root beer. I would break them both in half and eat a half of each together. That way...I could have it twice !!  And it was always very hard to get a vanilla one. I don't know if they sold out of those 1st, or they just didn't order as many to have in stock. Or maybe the store owner and his family ate all of those up before they made it out to the store ?

Think I remember the cream soda ones too. Oh yes...and the pineapple was great too. I haven't kept up with the new flavors they have today. I want to go back !!
I remember the banana yummy fudgsicle type too.

I never had a Popsicle in the early years. It was always Hershey's single ice pops from the corner store...in root beer. I remember some ice pop in cola. I don't know if it was Hershey's.

The biggest challenge was when purchasing a Hershey's single-serve ice cream cup. I had to try & fish around for the little individually-wrapped wooden sticks that could be anywhere...to eat it...while not falling in to the big giant freezer case.

Rootbeer and Banana were my two favorites.

Walmart's "Great Value" pops have a banaba flavor, but are nowhere near as flavorful as the "old school" ones.

I liked root beer and banana too.  Never had vanilla.  Now I get them at Giant Eagle (supermarket) and I get the box of cherry/orange/grape.  Never without popsicles in the freezer........refreshing after a 2-3 mile power walk on a hot humid day!!

Banana! Banana and Rootbeer were my favorites.

Our Carnation man delivered them if I remember right.

Mar,

I, too, loved the Banana flavor but I believe that was a Fudgesicle, not Popsicle, flavor.

Hello All,
My experiences with popsicles were first in the 60's. Loved the root beer, banana and cherry.
Rick F., I remember the strawberry thing you are talking about. They also had a chocolate.
But I can't recall what they were called.
Take Care,
Fieldthistle

I thought the middle (clear) section of a rocket popsicle (those red, white, and blue popsicles) tasted like a 7-up popsicle. But I don't remember any 7-up flavor, except the ones we made in the freezer in Tupperware with 7-up and a little orange juice.
